Gospel Values
As a Catholic School, we are constantly looking to Jesus, the Son, for inspiration and guidance. As such, we have created a St Mary's & St Benedict's list of monthly Gospel Values.
There is, quite intentionally, no new value in July - we use this month to reinforce all ten and prepare our children for moving on to new challenges.
School staff and governors have agreed to initiate a new weekly certficate, that reflects when/where pupils have shown Jesus in action, through their words or actions. This new certficate looks like this. We shared our first ones with pupils during Holy Week 2024. Some received theirs for showing COMPASSION, others for JOY, one for HONESTY and one for WISDOM.
At the end of each month, the CARITAS Catholic Social Teaching Award, as given to all Salford Diocesan schools, is presented to a pupil; a group or a class for their commitment to living out Christ's Gospel.
For example, in January 2024, the Award was given to Ryan (Rigby Class) for sharing JOY throughout December!
