Snacks for mid-morning break
We are very happy for pupils to bring a snack in for their mid-morning break, to tide them over until lunchtime.
We also acknowledge that no food is unhealthy - it's all about moderation. For the purposes of simplicity with pupils we encourage 'healthy' choices, such as:
- fresh fruit - an apple, a banana or a tangerine
- prepared fruit/veg - a pot of strawberries or carrot sticks or some grapes
- a cereal bar
What we don't allow at breaktime are high sugar/high fat foods, such as:
- crisps
- chocolate bars
- sausage rolls
Water is the only drink that we expect children to bring to school. Full details are made clear here - our our 'SMSB water only approach'.
